Okay... live report directly from Guatemala! Folks, the wait is worth it. Being a guy that has never even (no not ever!) changed a diaper or even held a baby, I was thrilled when my son took a nap in my lap. What a day! Sure, it was hard to leave him, but after touring Hannah’s Hope, heck, I would want to be there as a kid. It is a REALLY nice place. The people there are the greatest and do a wonderful job with these children. One thing I learned is just how much it costs them. We all need to find ways to get them more support!

So... for all those waiting... the experience is worth it. In the meantime, know that they are taking great care of your children.

Hi everyone! We are back from Guatemala. Our son, Daniel, is so beautiful. He is a wonderful and sensitive little boy. We are looking forward to raising him. All of you who said Hannah’s Hope is a wonderful place were right. The Special Mothers are nurturing and loving. The orphanage is a lovely home environment. The most striking thing we noticed is how well adjusted and healthy the children are. Since we were in the house with the older children, we expected some of them to be clingy or to act out. They did not. We were more at the home of a large family with very well-behaved children. They were cuddly, friendly, beautiful children.

All God’s Children started out as a resource and a support system, but they have become a part of our family. At first, the weekly phone calls were practical and necessary to complete all the paperwork. Amazingly, the weekly updates and phone calls continued after our paperwork was submitted, and AGCI supported us through the long wait for a referral and even after we brought home Jean Carlos. Working with Kim Williams was a blessing, and our relationship blossomed into a beautiful family team working towards a common goal. We miss Kim’s calls, and we still get excited to see an email from her. We know that she has other family members to watch over now, and we are blessed to have been a part of this whole experience.

From the moment we began our adoption journey with AGCI, we felt that there was no question that they wouldn’t answer, even before we knew what to ask. When we adopted our first son, Isaac, as we were making the decision as to what country to choose, Kim Williams called me to tell me her story of adopting from Guatemala. She answered my questions and painted such a beautiful picture of adoption from a very beautiful country.

When we adopted our second son, Caleb (also from Guatemala), we found our paperwork stalled for some 10 weeks during the process, and in that time I would regularly get my friendly phone call from Kim. She encouraged and assured us that everything that could be done was being done. It felt so good to talk to someone who totally understood how we felt and to have the knowledge that we were being prayed for regularly. AGCI has been such a blessing to us, after all, it was through this wonderful agency that we found our beautiful boys!

All Gods Children will always be an intimate part of our lives. God had chosen to use them to bring our precious son home. The support, effort, and prayers that are put into each adoption are amazing. Through the process, you will find the staff to be prayerful, honest, forthcoming, and sensitive to your needs. They have such a love for these precious children. Hannah’s Hope is absolutely beautiful, and we knew that Christian was safe and well taken care of until the day we picked him up.

Living only a few blocks from the former AGCI office, we would have never realized all those times we walked our dog past it, how important the special group of people inside of it would become in helping our dream come true. Having been diagnosed with infertility, we decided we wanted to expand our family through adoption. We did lots of research on agencies, some all the way across the country, just to end up with AGCI down the street! We did enjoy the proximity of the agency, but what really helped us to make our final decision was how ethical the agency operates, and the great care it provides to not only the babies, but also the birth moms.

AGCI was very helpful in guiding us through the paperwork and providing us with comforting words and encouragement when the wait got tough. Even though the wait to bring our son home was difficult, it was a great comfort to know he was in such good care and to receive the monthly updates and in-depth information. Working with the staff at AGCI, we feel that this is not just their job, but truly their calling to do God’s work. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts for helping to bring our little guy home! He is the joy of our lives!

AGCI has brought our son to us. This means laughter, dancing, hiking slowly while looking at bugs, tickle fests, cheerios in every nook and cranny of the car, and so much love. Our boy from Guatemala is happy, loving and curious. With him our lives are full of the experiences of getting up in the wee hours of the night, of drying tears from a boy’s face, of teaching the lessons of life to a young person, of meeting other parents to wonder whether we’re doing everything right; all made possible for us through adoption. AGCI was compassionate, helpful, and kind throughout our adoption process. We owe them our greatest gratitude.

Our latest adoption story started two years prior to filling out the dossier. We felt God nudging us to adopt again (3 of our 4 children are adopted) but still had much praying to do. We contacted AGCI when we originally felt the call, and they were so understanding and supportive of our indecision. Kim would call about every other month to check to see if we had questions (we always did!!) until we were able to make one more leap of faith. In 2004, the whole family ventured to Guatemala to pick up our precious daughter, Bella. AGCI has been just amazing! From the uncertainties, to filling out the mountain of paperwork, to waiting for the referral, then preparing to travel, and even after our return, they have always been there to comfort, talk, guide, and love us through this wonderful process of adoption. Thank you AGCI, from the bottom of our hearts!

Throughout our first adoption from Guatemala, I was on the phone with someone on AGCI’s staff at least once or twice a week; getting help with paperwork, asking questions about parenting, getting updates on our case... and even crying and praying with someone on their wonderful and caring team. There were so many times that we felt like we were their only clients because they took so much time to talk with us and called us regularly even if we didn’t have any updates.

When we decided to adopt a second time, there wasn’t any question of which agency we would use. We love and trust all the staff with AGCI, and I couldn’t imagine using anyone else. Their "family" is our family. In fact, we have just begun our third adoption in an entirely different and brand new program, but because it is being done through AGCI, my husband and I didn’t even hesitate to jump on board. We have so much peace knowing that the people we are dealing with are so amazing and genuine and truly doing the work of God.
