Matching Campaign for Haiti to Open New Orphan Home

Posted on: April 5th, 2012 by csell

I am excited to announce that AGCI is now working on developing an adoption program in Haiti.

Over the past year, we have been reaching orphans in Haiti through our Embrace Mission teams while prayerfully seeking God’s guidance for our ministry.

Our next step is to provide a safe, loving home with experienced, Christian caregivers. We are working with a Godly Haitian woman named Rachel, who has been caring for orphans through her licensed creche, Rivers of Hope Home, for many years. Together, we are preparing to open another home to serve up to 24 children with the same excellent holistic care we provide in our Hannah’s Hope Homes. (more…)

Give Bulgaria’s Orphans a Grandmother’s Love Today

Posted on: April 5th, 2012 by csell

Since All God’s Children International first began our work in Bulgaria in 1991, we have been blessed to unite more than 450 children with their forever families and care for thousands of orphans across the country.

Over the past two decades, AGCI has helped improve orphan care in Bulgaria’s government-run facilities by providing much-needed food and clothing, developmental toys, and loving care givers. In 2011, with the support of contributors and Embrace Mission participants like you, AGCI helped the orphans at Varna recover from a devastating boiler room fire and opened a Creative Development Center for the orphans at Kaspichan. We are eternally grateful for your heart for the orphans in Bulgaria. (more…)

All God’s Children International is blessed to work with Ten Talents International in Rwanda. They help to place the lonely in families by reuniting orphans and street youth with extended family members or local foster families. They currently serve boys who have lived on the streets of Kigali in their “Home of Innocence” transition home and in their outreach programs.

Their vision is to expand care for orphans and street children through Acres of Hope, a 7.5 acre property that will eventually include four transition homes. (more…)

Taiwan – Project Completed!

Posted on: February 13th, 2012 by agci

By Kate McDodson, Taiwan Case Manager Today was another wonderful day! We stared off with church which the pastor and other members had taken the time to translate the song lyrics and even the notes of the sermon to English so that we could better follow along.  We were introduced to the congregation and everyone prayed for us, the work we had done, and the home that we had completed. It was a touching service to be a part of and it was fun to get an opportunity to see all the prayer that is lifted on the Taiwan side for this work that we do. (more…)

Taiwan – Project Update 3

The house is done! We spent the morning doing the final touch ups and clean up. We got the furniture ordered for the main room, we have cushions ordered for the counseling room, and the curtains have been chosen!! This place really looks like a home! Again I
can’t say enough about how wonderful this group of women have been to work alongside of.

We went to a Paiwan aboriginal restaurant today for lunch. The food was amazing!! It was very authentic food to the Paiwan tribe  – my favorite was the sticky rice and pork wrapped and cooked in a banana leaf. After lunch we were able to go to a village and see more of life in Taiwan. It was interesting to hear from them about aborigine culture in Taiwan. (more…)

The paint is on the walls, the beds have shown up and were made, rooms have been arranged – this place is really starting to look like a home. I walked through the home today and was honestly in tears at how beautiful it all was. I have been so impressed with the team that is here. They have been such an honor and joy to work with – they worked tirelessly for days to complete this task. The Taiwan staff have all laughed and said how they wanted to move into the Promise of Life home. (more…)

Yesterday the team really just focused on the home, we got there early and just worked through the whole day. The team is so dedicated and committed to making Promise of Life absolutely beautiful. They have spent hours painting and now even stenciling! Each time one of our Taiwan staff walk through the home they are in awe of the work, love, and effort that is put into each room. The team accomplished all my goals for the day and we are now even starting to paint rooms we did not expect we would have had time to do! (more…)

On Monday we were able to be a part of the famous Lantern Festival in Ping Shi. It was one of the most BEAUTIFUL and remarkable experiences I have ever had. We let off lanterns for AGCI and Promise of Life and watched them float into the sky along with 1,000 other lanterns, it was so beautiful. The annual Lantern Festival in Taiwan is the second largest festival in the world, with over 100,000 people in Ping Shi enjoying the show! (more…)

Posted on: January 20th, 2012 by agci

By Andrea Montano, Sagebrush Team Member.

Days 3 and 4 of the Sagebrushers work on the orphanage have been phenomenal! The work expectations for the trip were not only met, but have been far exceeded with one more work day left tomorrow.

All but 3 of the 75 tresses on our plan were knocked out by day 2 and we expect to finish the installation by tomorrow.  The electrical team has nearly finished the entire orphan section of the facility.
Another team has been working on plumbing and the painting team is in the midst of applying the first coat to the kitchen, girls dorm, boys dorm, and courtyard. (more…)

Haiti – Sagebrush – Day 2

By Kristin Sando, Hope Village – Haiti

After Sunday’s introduction to Haiti and the facilities at Hope Village, the team had a restful night at the FMI guesthouse.

This morning everyone was up early at 6 am to beat the heat.

Following a brief safety meeting, the tresses crew began the process of cutting, assembling and installing tresses for the new section of roof.

The electrical team also got right to work mapping out boxes and outlets.

God bless them on their first full day at Hope Village.
