Ethiopia is a country beset by years of war, severe drought, and epidemics, and crippled economically and socially. Over five million orphaned children struggle to survive every day. Many of these little ones lost their parents to Africa’s HIV/AIDS outbreak, and are orphaned and alone. AGCI has embraced Ethiopia’s children through our Hannah’s Hope orphan care program.

In early 2007, a group of half a dozen volunteers from All God’s Children set out on a mission of mercy to build a special home for Ethiopia’s orphaned children. In five twenty-hour days, we transformed an empty house into a warm, inviting dwelling place: Hannah’s Hope, our first orphan care home in Ethiopia.  Located in the capital city of Addis Ababa, Hannah’s Hope is a haven for children who have come out of desperation and into the sheltering embrace of hope.
