Waiting ChildrenOpen a door of hope
He was found by policemen at the gate of a parking lot of a hospital on September 23, 2006. Since the efforts to locate his parents were fruitless he was sent to the orphanage on September 24, 2006. His birth date was estimated to be December 30, 2004, based on a physical exam. When he was examined in the orphanage he weighed 17.6 pounds and was 28.3 inches long. His head measured18.1 inches and his chest measured 17.7 inches. He was diagnosed with congenital heart disease, VSD not closed. He had surgery on December 13, 2006 to repair the VSD and after a successful surgery he was discharged on December 20, 2006. The surgery was sponsored by Love without Boundaries. At his last exam on March 23, 2007 he weighed 21.6 pounds and was 32.2 inches tall.
He came to the institute at 21 months and would cry going from one room to another as if he was looking for something. He would avoid the nannies until he was too tired to stay awake. The nannies made many efforts to try to comfort him. At 22 months he no longer cried out loud but was still sad and remained silent when with the nannies. At 23 months he began to smile and liked to play ball. He would kick the ball and chase it with his friends. Now, he can feed himself with a spoon, jump, run, and climb up and down stairs. He can understand directions, put on his shoes and is potty trained. He is very interested in picture books. He likes to play outside, especially on the slide and seesaw and he can ride a tricycle. It is the hope of the nannies that he will be adopted by a foreign family so that he can get good care, education and grow up healthy and happy.
