This intelligent and healthy 13 year old boy is waiting for a loving family to call his own. There is a $4,500 grant available to help bring him home. This young man is interested in tourism and over the summer of 2007 participated in a summer camp with 11 other children from his institute. They went to the capital city Beijing, where they watched the national flag hoist ceremony in the Tian'anmen Square, climbed the Great Wall, and visited campus of Peking and Tsinghua Universit. During the tour for almost one week, he was always energetic, curious and enthusiastic. He recorded in his diary what he had seen and heard and expressed his deep love for the beautiful rivers and mountains of his motherland. Now, at age 13, he is in Grade 5, behaves well at school, listens to lessons seriously, can finish homework for all of the subjects assigned, obeys and respects his teachers, and gets along well with classmates. He is easygoing, rarely shouts aloud, likes to smile, and always answers questions politely. His name means strong and he has lived up to this name in many ways throughout his life. At the age of 7 years, he was found abandoned; malnourished, scared and alone, he entered the Welfare system in hopes of a better life. The boy was fearful and initially distant being unwilling to speak or make eye contact with others. However, after personal attention he began to develop strong attachments which led to his full adjustment to his environment. He is now loved by all and gets along well with the staff and peers in the institute. His medical reports all display a healthy child with normal mental development. This intelligent and amazing boy has limitless potential if given a family to grow in. There are no known additional supports he would require at this time. We would prefer to place him with a family that has experience parenting teenage children. Please note that interested families have 3 months to submit a Home Study and Dossier. To adopt this child, applicants must be 30-55 years old and meet an income requirement of $30,000 plus $10,000 per family member with the addition of an adopted child, with at least $80,000 in positive net worth.
