Help Restore a Family this Easter!

Please give a child a new beginning.

When Kodi*, a 7-year-old girl, arrived at the AGCI & Tim Tebow Foundation House of Hope for Girls in Ethiopia, she carried deep pain. Her biological father had passed away before she was born, a loss that shaped her earliest identity. But Kodi grew up wrapped in the love of a remarkable stepfather who fully embraced the role of “Dad.” He chose to love, protect, and champion her as his own.

Throughout her childhood, Kodi’s curiosity grew beyond their rural village in Southern Ethiopia. When she travelled to a larger city for a doctor’s appointment, the trip sparked dreams for the future—better schooling, new opportunities, and the excitement of city life.

When her older sister, who lived in Addis Ababa, invited Kodi to live with her and promised an outstanding education, the family trusted it was the right step.

But sadly, as soon as Kodi moved, she was exploited…

Rather than attending school, she was forced into full-time childcare, managing the household, and carrying responsibilities far beyond her age.

Kodi was also ordered to work at her sister’s small restaurant, which primarily served men in the military. Each time she worked at the restaurant, she felt unsafe, frightened, and alone.

Eventually, when the burden became too heavy, Kodi made the decision to run away.

Like many children forced to survive alone, Kodi ended up on the street. Eventually, police found her and brought her to the House of Hope in May 2025.

When Kodi arrived at the home, she was fiercely independent. She had learned that to survive, you must depend on yourself and not trust anyone.

But caregivers at the home refused to give up. They patiently provided Kodi with psychological support, play therapy, educational support, and life-skills training. Through devotions, Kodi also began to understand that her Heavenly Father loves her more than she can imagine.

For the first time since leaving home, Kodi began accepting care, trusting others, and allowing Christ to heal her heart.

Gradually, Kodi started thriving physically, emotionally, and spiritually. She even showed a 95% reduction in trauma symptoms—an extraordinary reflection of deep healing.

Throughout her time in the home, the care team searched relentlessly for family members who could provide a safe, stable home. After months of persistence, they were able to locate her mother and stepfather, who had been continuously searching for their daughter.

On December 2, 2025, their reunion was filled with tears, relief, and joy! The beautiful bond that once anchored Kodi’s life was restored.

Kodi is now back home, living with her parents, who cherish her. Their family life is stable, and she feels a strong sense of safety, belonging, and love. She is embracing her childhood again and excited to start school for the first time.

This Easter, Kodi is also discovering a life-transforming truth—that no matter what we face, our Risen Savior has the power to make all things new.

Empower a child like Kodi today!

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!”
