You have the Power to Unlock Life-Saving Essentials

Children in Ethiopia are bound by TRAUMA.

An estimated 600,000 children live on the streets in Ethiopia (UNICEF). Separated from family. At risk of horrific abuse, substance use, even trafficking.

  • 70% have survived physical abuse.

  • 86% faced emotional abuse.

  • 89% experienced neglect.*

If you saw this child wandering alone and afraid, you would try to help them.

You can stand up for this child now and help them find their family.

And it starts with a First Responder Kit.

The First Response Matters

For children who have experienced trauma, sleepless nights, anxious days, illness, and despair are constant.

So, when a child enters AGCI‘s care, the first interaction they have with us is not merely about making a good first impression.

Rather, having the right first response in place is vital to that child’s ability to heal and thrive.

There is too much at stake to take the first response lightly.

That is why we are committed to connecting with them right where they are, present in their hurt, providing for their needs, and reminding them they are God’s beloved.

Just as trauma affects every aspect of a child, so should their path to healing. We apply ingenuity and adaptability to provide individualized kits to each child and then create a unique and comprehensive plan for their continued healing journey.

By providing a First Responder Kit, you open the door to deep, transformational healing for vulnerable children like the ones features on this page.

Your support will disrupt trauma and have an impact both now and for generations to come!

Every First Responder Kit Includes

  • Nutritious Food

  • Shelter

$20 disrupts the trauma a child living on the streets is bound by.

Asni’s Search for More

Orphaned at a young age after her mom passed away and her father left her, Asni* spent most of her life searching.

Searching for joy. Searching for a home. Searching for family.

Suffocated by the weight of early childhood trauma, Asni began running away from her grandparents' home.

Asni's loneliness was fueled by unimaginable grief and led her to isolate even further.

Asni saw one more glimpse of hope when she made contact with her long-lost uncle. He promised to meet her and give her a better life. And she prayed this relationship would be what she had been searching for.

A relationship that would allow her to cease searching. Allow her to rest. Allow her to be a kid again.

Asni left her hometown on a bus and began hitchhiking more than 400 miles toward another Ethiopian town. Despite days of travel, she never found her uncle.

Asni was lost.
